Hi guys,

I use jumpstart to install solaris nevada and use 'set_nfs4_domain' to bypass the NFSv4 domain name screen at the first reboot, this works fine before, but for snv_38, NFSv4 domain name require user to press 'F2' or 'F6' and the former 'set_nfs4_domain' can't bypass this screen at all.

Hi Yandong,

This is a new feature of snv-38. In previous builds, NFSv4
domain name was configured by a post-install script. Since
snv_38, a new sysidtool /usr/sbin/sysidnfs4 has been
integrated, which makes NFSv4 domain name configuration a more
integral part of Solaris installation.

For example, now you can configure NFSv4 domain name in sysidcfg
file. A new keyword "nfs4_domain" is introduced. You can set the
value of that variable according to your network environment.
If you want to use the default value, add the following line :

    nfs4_domain=dynamic

That will bypass the NFSv4 domain name configuration screen
during install.

   So is there any other method to bypass this screen?

And one further question: Why solaris do it this way? I mean require user to press some key before login. I think it is not friendly UI from user's perspective.

That is what the new sysidtool wants to fix.
