Thank you very much for your information. I will try the upgrade option. I have to perform my first upgrade on one our E4900 production zone. I can not even find a workstation to do some preparation. The upgrade option is simple. The initial option is more comfortable, but need more time and space, yes and more energy.
We have mirror for only OS part, all the applications are on zones with raid5 on the hardware level. Even I detach the mirror, I may lose all the zone parts if upgrade fails. I am not sure if the metadetach can confuse the upgrade to select the right ones as there will be two copies of some OS file systems. I may be able to select manually. Luckly, we do not have Veritas yet, I do not need to know much by now and soon we can have Live Update when go to March version. The server is in another state, 10 hours drive, there is no our local people there but some SUN people.
