FWIW, Hg, though young already has some tools, e.g. see:

        http://xenbits.xensource.com/xen-unstable.hg

which supports RSS. Other tools will come in time no doubt. Things like commit mails are easily scripted, Hg has the hooks for it.

Mercurial is supported nowhere while Google returns more than 110 hits for Subversion leaving alone the utilities for CVS.

My understanding is the Subversion will /also/ be used for OpenSolaris (perhaps not as the canonical repository for OS/Net, but..).
