One thing that I dont see mentioned in this thread, that is semi-related: it would be nice to keep the [] tags, BUT, have intelligent mailserver-side stripping of "Re" addons.
If you're going to auto-add-on [xxxx] tags, the software should first strip out initial "Re:" lines. In other words.
