Perhaps since you already have your integrated experience.... Matty, your tone comes across very offensively. Everyone recognizes that there is work that can be done to improve things, but to simply denigrate the vast amounts of effort that people -- often volunteers -- have put in to creating what we have is quite rude. Blastwave may not have the latest nightlies of every OSS project CVS tree, but they do try to keep fairly current. Sunfreeware.com is usually fairly close as well. Sun is further behind, but they are more concerned about the corporate environment and stability. My organization -- which currently has somewhere north of 8500 Solaris servers -- really appreciates that level of consistency. There are over 1000 Solaris 2.6 servers still running at my company because we don't need every single new wizz-bang feature that some half-cocked developer decided to throw into their OSS spaghetti. -spp This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [email protected]
