Yup, a patched rhythmbox that allows iPod syncing has gone into Ubuntu
Dapper this week IIRC, so assuming that stabilises and gets back
upstream, it may well appear in future versions of vermillion.
For the codename impaired that translates to "in Solaris next, ie
Solaris 11".
