Erm... yes... that's the version I am using, following "Option 2" on
http://www.opensolaris.org/os/community/tools/sun_studio_tools/ (e.g.
install the Studio 10 package and then the compiler patches via %
patchadd -M . patchlist #).

While I'm not sure whether that's the problem or not, I've certainly
built b37 and variations on i386 several times with them.

Umpf... sounds my system hates me then - or it's a VMware-related hiccup... ;-(

It really is much easier to use nightly(1)...
