Since SO8 could eventually become a significant revenue source for SUN, perhaps
OpenOffice.org 2.0.2 may be a better option to be included?

OpenOffice.org has essentially the same code base as StarOffice, but without
Sun's enhancements. OpenOffice.org is not a discounted version, but one should
consider StarOffice as a Sun-polished version of OpenOffice.org to make it
better suited for corporate environment.

Yesterday there was an article that talked about possible viruses in
OpenOffice/StarOffice. For a tool so powerful, viruses are inevitable. But
with OOo/SO, you can set up your security options so that, if necessary, only
macros that are signed and from trusted sources are allowed to be run. Having
your office run StarOffice will make you sleep better during the night.

If you purchase a copy of StarOffice 8, it comes with a collection of CDs that
allow you to run the same program in Windows, Linux, Solaris (Sparc and X86).
Microsoft writes programs that only run on Windows (mostly), Adobe is trying to
port its Acroread (and only Acroread) to mulitple platforms, and is still
strugging to do it in Solaris. Sun is the ONLY company that has achieved this
true platform neutrality with respect to one of the most important office tools.
