http://www.gnusolaris.org/Download This release provides a fully integrated Ubuntu/Dapper Drake userland, OpenSolaris core (build #40), and contains overall 11,800 packages. In addition, Alpha 5 contains: * Sun's Java SE 5.0 Java Development Kit (via NexentaOS APT). * Live Upgrade - supported from Alpha 5 and onwards. (Use Debian tools to bring your system up to the bleeding edge..) * OpenOffice.org 2.0, natively compiled on NexentaOS. * OpenSolaris build #40, non-DEBUG kernel. And also, the latest: * GNOME 2.14.x * KDE 3.5.2 * Xfce 4.3.x * Xorg 7.0.x And finally: * Graphical .deb Package Installer * Apache, MySQL, and Perl/Python/PHP * Rhythmbox notification * Better Applications Menu Organization * Firefox 1.5, Thunderbird 1.5 * Search Results in Nautilus * GNOME Power Manager Preferences (not fully working yet) * New Log Out Dialog * New polished look and feel * New updates notification * Integrated Add/Remove application * Integrated Alacarte menu editor * gstreamer-0.10 and number of media plugins * and 11,000 more packages. NexentaOS comes as InstallCD and pre-installed VMware image that can be "played" in VMware Player. If VMware is an option, the installation can be skipped..
