Cool! Thanks for trying this out. Just a bit more clarifications on Nexenta upgrades:
1) We are using BFU-like way to upgrade our bits but difference is that it is all done via APT repository with respect to the set of pre-installed packages; 2) We are using Debconf front-ends for user interaction; 4 backends supported and tested: readline, ncurses, GNOME and KDE; 3) We are supporting "major" and "minor"(selected) upgrades; build40 => build42 was an example of "major" upgrade; if Nexenta/Solaris developers fixes particular bug in particular package like sunwiscsiu than "minor" 5.11.40-1 => 5.11.40-2 upgrade will be possible; 4) We are supporting downgrade path but per-package basis; This option is not very useful by itself but it is good to have it.
