I don't work at Sun (any more), but it seems more accurate to say that
there are two possibly conflicting sets of interoperability requests:
1) Interoperability with other Solaris versions and customers, such as S10
2) Interoperability with external standards such as POSIX/XPG4 or other
OS's
Blindly choosing #2 while ignoring #1 is going to annoy a lot of
existing Solaris users, and Sun is hardly alone amongst OS suppliers in
bearing this in mind.
