I am omitting the obvious. In light of the fact that: (1) Sun is now AMD's most valuable customer, (2) CDDL, which, unlike GPL, allows proprietary drivers to be included in the kernel, (3) (to a much less extent) the increasing romance between NB and OOo, we may begin to dream about the world dominance of Solaris desktops/laptops. Sun's lawyers can and should play an active role (re point No. 2).
