Tried B44 with bootcamp and it still hangs at stage 2.

Jon,

You need to install without X11 (text) before you go wanting to use X11. After you've installed Solaris, you will run xorgconfig and choose a PS/2 mouse from the setup. Reply to me off-list and I can send you a sample xorg.conf file that works at 1024x768.

Another gotcha is that you'll have to install the network driver that comes with Parallels. To do that, you'll need to map your CD to / Library/Parallels/Tools/vmtools.iso. I don't remember off the top of my head, but you'll need to look for a "Solaris" directory.

There are some other gotchas, like reboots don't work well, you'll need to shut down the VM and restart it.

I haven't tried any of the Nevada builds yet, just Solaris 10 6/06, but a colleague of mine has tried Nevada with success.

A good place to search for answers and/or ask questions is at the Parallels forums web site. Check out <http://forums.parallels.com/>.
