Try out the NWAM prototype:

The prototype doesn't do IPMP but does give you "autoselect" really
nicely.

Thanks to Darren and Joerg for their answers. IPMP wasn't really goal,
but I didn't see any other way of reliably detecting when a link went
down. I'd looked at using DL_NOTE_LINK_{UP|DOWN} directly, but
I gave up when I saw what would be involved.
Which is how the NWAM prototype profiled does it!
I'll give the NWAM prototype a try and see what happens.
