This is the first step of a long (upcoming) journey of Dell's AMD-powered PCs:

Perhaps someone at Sun will try to sell Mr. Michael the "vision" of
Solaris-based business desktops?

But Solaris still doesn't work on AM2 type motherboards. (Or does it?)

It installed okay on mine (ASUS M2N SLI Deluxe). It's only handling
the SATA ports in legacy mode and not supporting hot-swap on them, but
that's not AM2-related that I can see, that's a piece of a more
general problem. This system is nowhere near production status yet
(what with the hot swap problems), so I hesitate to say confidently it
all works "fine"; I haven't run it under load or for extended periods.
