Thanks for the help. Actually Sun has a more updated driver for the Realtek RTL8139 on-board NIC, see: http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/hcl/data/sol/components/details/996.html (04/14/05 vs. 05/26/00) We know that Sun's own Realtek RTL8139 driver does work on a 32-bit machine (in our own lab). The problem could be either (1) this is a 64-bit machine, or (2) alias problem.
