I guess you are trying this in chroot environment. I'd suggest you to

I am still to try the Qt thing so will get back to u later bout it.
tried the mount thing and had a real bad exp
i was not able to log in to chroot after doing this and everything
under the /space/livecd_proto had cahnged to many folders named by
many diff numbers
i did this
mount -F lofs /proc /space/livecd_proto.
I will come back to you with Qt shortly once i try it again as per
ur advice.

Qt is available in /usr/foss/lib (libqt-mt).
Without
it KDE will not work. When you are doing a configure
use:
configure --prefix=/usr/foss --enable-shared
--disable-static
Also I see that you are getting the following errors:

This is easy to fix. Before executing chroot you need
to do the following:
mount -F lofs /proc </path/to/belenix/proto>
The last argument is the full path to the directory
where you have the bootcd_proto.
