It's pretty hard. I don't know a good way to do that at present - which is
one reason for starting to write my own tool to answer that question.

(My own way to do this in the past has been to get as close as I could
with a jumpstart profile, and then look at the install log to see where I
had gone wong. Then iterate until satisfied. Works, but it takes a while.)

It also depends on why you want to remove gnome. In most of the
cases where I've done this it's to create a minimized install, in which case
it may be easier to start with the core cluster and work up. (I've come to
the conclusion that the end user and developer cluster aren't useful as
standalone clusters or starting points for further customization.)
