The tarball of Sun Studio 11 at:
http://opensolaris.org/os/community/tools/sun_studio_tools/sun_studio_11_tools/
...should be building the current source. The tarball is a subset of
the the complete product (e.g. took out sun perf lib, I believe to save
space, etc.) and neither this version or the full version of Sun Studio
11 contains any license checks, etc. It is FREE, with the intent of
making it easy to D/L, install, and get running with.
We will have the "product packages" version shortly (week or two?), as
an alternative.
HTHs!

The studio 11 package tar ball can already be downloaded but that does
not include all the compilers as "certified" for S11.
Will ON refuse to compile because the certificate is missing? Can this
certificate check disabled in the makefiles? Where is that check? Why
is this crypto junk needed?
Huh ?
I think you are confused about what certified means versus what a
cryptographic certificate is. There is no cryptographic check in the
compilers.
In this context, I'm pretty sure that Casper's use of "certified"
means "tested, known to work and 'blessed' as good" and nothing to do
with any cryptographic use of code signing certs.
