My good ol JDS works just fine.  I am using it now.  Its the install of the
beta vermillion b50 packages that slayed my system.  I think you may be
referring to that.

As for performance .. I don't know where to start as its all been said
before.  If you want speed .. go with Studio 11 tools.  Thats almost an
axiom.
