On reviewing the thread I see I was incorrect in my assumptions about
the context. The update_* scripts are still very useful though and I
don't think it would be difficult to make the public.
The update-X script is distributed with the X source drops, but that
version only updates the packages provided in the X source drops. You
should be able to simply put in the full list of X packages and then run
it from the Product/ subdir in a DVD or lofi-mounted DVD ISO image to
upgrade to the X packages in any given SXCR release.
