I wonder about slide 17: "Voting is a last resort ... a healthy
community should rarely need to vote." I wonder what they mean by that?
I suspect they mean voting in terms of technical issues or direction as a
project - preferring consensus among the people actually doing the work and
skilled in the relevant area. Voting for annual elections for a foundation board
is perfectly acceptable.
[This is mostly how GNOME works. Other communities differ greatly]
