Hmm, I thought it always asked unless your jumpstart profile answered for you.
If it's not asking, it should default to Xorg, but you can run kdmconfig to
verify.   (Or just simply "ps -ef | grep X" to see which is running.)

Xorg is installed by default no matter how you install Solaris, as long
as you choose at least "End User" cluster (which is required to get X).

How do I find out that I am using Radeon and not the VESA driver?

Look in /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see which driver it says it loaded.
