Hi,
For some time I have been trying to install OpenSolaris on my x64. What
I notice is that each one claiming to be x86/x64 and having a 32 bits
install only, freezes sooner or later during initial install. My latest
attempt is Nexenta. In the install menu, I can choose which type of
install i want. Then it starts configuring devices after which the
keyboard is frozen. The only OpenSolaris that doesn't freeze on my x64
is Schillix and that has a x64 install option (unfortunatley I haven't
yet managed to install it). Whether or not that indeed is the reason my
x64 doesn't freeze, I can't tell. I only have one, so I can't compare.
If someone has an idea on how to fix it, pls let me know.
BTW, I doubt there's something wrong with the hardware, since Ubuntu
Linux/amd64 and NetBSD/amd64 work fine.
