There's no other BOOTP server built into Solaris. > I have a DHCP server in a half-baked state, meaning: > > - I configured the server according to documentation on docs.sun.com > - I added exactly one PXE client (unrelated to Octane) > - the PXE client isn't booting from my DHCP server (misconfigured DHCP server) > - I have not made any modifications to the DHCP server since. If you haven't specificially configured your DHCP server to handle BOOTP clients, then it's unlikely to work. BOOTP is basically the predecessor to DHCP. It uses the same UDP port numbers and the same packet format, but with some new options and some new behaviors. That's why it's serviced by the DHCP server. -- James Carlson, KISS Network <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sun Microsystems / 1 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677 _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [email protected]
