I´m asking the driver issue because I see there an advantage in Solaris over Linux. 1. The CDDL allows shipment of closed-source drivers in the OpenSolaris tree 2. Solaris has stable kernel APIs so drivers will also work in the future for sure And that could make it easier to to develop a consumer Solaris with a lot of multimedia devices.
