That's a pretty good discussion of the process. There are also the man pages (start with live_upgrade(5)) and, of course, the LU documents in the "Solaris 10 Installation Guide" that may be helpful. Despite the great deal of documentation here, the process is fairly straightforward. Create a new boot environment with lucreate, remove the SUNWluu/SUNWlur/SUNWlucfg* packages, install the SUNWluu/SUNWlur/ SUNWlucfg packages from install medium, run luupgrade, then luactivate, and finally "init 6" to switch over. It does more than just upgrading; it's also useful for maintaining multiple boot environments for testing purposes and for disaster recovery. * - if present; this third package first appeared in snv_53. -- James Carlson, KISS Network <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sun Microsystems / 1 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677 _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [email protected]
