That's a pretty good discussion of the process.  There are also the
man pages (start with live_upgrade(5)) and, of course, the LU
documents in the "Solaris 10 Installation Guide" that may be helpful.

Despite the great deal of documentation here, the process is fairly
straightforward.  Create a new boot environment with lucreate, remove
the SUNWluu/SUNWlur/SUNWlucfg* packages, install the SUNWluu/SUNWlur/
SUNWlucfg packages from install medium, run luupgrade, then
luactivate, and finally "init 6" to switch over.

It does more than just upgrading; it's also useful for maintaining
multiple boot environments for testing purposes and for disaster
recovery.
