You need to enable xdmcp for dtlogin or gdm first. This is because of
security reasons disabled by default.
For gdm to enable, edit /etc/X11/gdm/custom.conf
and add
Enable=true
in the [xdmcp] section, or run menu->administration->login window
as root to configure gdm.
For dtlogin, I guess the udpPort is set to 0 to disbale xdmcp. If you
set this to 177 it will reenable xdmcp. Use "svcprop cde-login" and look
for dtlogin/args astring. Change with svccfg to change the value.
