Packages for what software ?
Packages aren't the the first issue you need to cover. The first
issue is what the functionality you are proposing is. Propose a
project to this list to cover adding that functionality.
Ah... thanks, Darren. I'm used to the Linux community distro "process"
where you get 5 different text editors, word processors, and video
players. I'm not used to the idea of highlighting missing functionality
first and then picking the best software for it. How revolutionary ;)
So I guess what I'm proposing is that Hyperic HQ be the systems and
application monitoring toolkit for OpenSolaris. To get a sense of what
I'm talking about, see http://sourceforge.net/projects/hyperic-hq.
Download the Solaris (SPARC) builds and tell me what you think. There's
also source available. We don't have builds specifically for Solaris
x86, but if you "bring you own" JRE and Postgres database, just download
the "no JRE" version of HQ.
