[This is only pertanent to S10, the "sxce" in the thread title referred to my first efforts to load a version of Solaris on this board]
The procedure to integrate the IDR into a DVD distribution is documented here: http://www.sun.com/blueprints/0806/819-7546.html After rebuilding the installation OS on the DVD, I originally thought the IDR could be stored in the Patches subtree of the distribution medium, and applied during the regular installation process. Unfortunately, the installation attempts to apply patches with the "dont-save-backout-information" option turned on, and the IDR refuses to be applied in that mode.. So what I did was follow the blueprint to update the bootable OS on the DVD, and stored the IDR in a non-standard directory on the DVD so it could be applied after Solaris was installed on the host, but before attempting to boot from the new installation. Of course, you need to choose to reboot the host manually after installation to give you a chance to install the IDR. -Paul This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [email protected]
