I thought it might be interesting to see this video and it may even give an
opportunity to send a link around to some people to get them to take a look at
Solaris.

But - after seeing this video, I don't think so anymore.

I am certain, nobody outside the Solaris community will be able to pull any
kind of information from this video or even be encouraged to take a further
look at it. People are scared away by this thing. The whole concept is IMHO
totally inapropriate.

Don't get me wrong, I really would like to have something to show to people and
I really love Solaris, especially as I have to work most of the time on none
Solaris machines. So I really know what I am missing the whole time.

So, here are some suggestions:
1) get a moderator, who talks slow and understandable and keeps calm (no hand
waving!). A woman is for this kind of job much more apropriate, as women are a
better eye-catcher for both sexs.
2) get someone from the outside who doesn't know solaris and find out some good
basic questions to start with - kind of "for dummies".
3) stop citing all those top technologies - people won't be able to understant
and remeber them right away anyway, so they will probably feel confused or even
stupid and will be frightend away from Solaris
4) concentrate on 3 to 4 key aspects and go them thru without technical detail
(e.g. compability with other free software like KDE, cost-effectiveness,
performance, observability)
5) make sure that the image of the audience is consistent and clear: e.g.
"Solaris safes money, is top-technology, and interacts with its community"

Just a thought...
