Google for hcl solaris
(where hcl is an abbreviation for "Hardware Compatibility List") and look around. If your dv2124tu is similar to the dv2000, you'd probably have to disable "SATA Native Support" in the BIOS, whatever that means (I suppose it means emulation of traditional parallel ATA or something like that). In the end, someone actually has to try it, and unless they already have one but want to know as much as you do whether it will work, they probably won't want to blow away whatever they have installed (or buy Partition Magic) to make room for a Solaris partition.
