I've been a Solaris user / sysadmin / Sun customer since many years. And in all
these years, I still have the impression that Sun's marketing so totally *does
not get* Solaris. They don't dig it. The marketing campaigns have been one flop
after another for at least as long as I've been involved with Solaris, and
that's some 12+ years.

The best marketing for Sun and Solaris so far came from not marketing -- but
Solaris engineers and their blogs!!!

That's an important piece of information, and an even more important lesson.
Maybe customers are sick and tired of Sun's marketing strategy; maybe they want
to hear what the engineers have to say, and not marketing "interpretations".

"Java Desktop System". You've got to be kidding me!
