I'm new to solaris so now want to download iso file, burn and install the OS.
I will install it on x86.
But I'm confused that there are following types of ISO file:
- Solaris Express, Community Edition
More frequently updated (see the schedule).
You need to install the Studio compilers yourself.

- Solaris Express, Developer Edition
Updated not so often, but more thouroughly tested before release.
Comes with the Sun-Compilers preinstalled.

Which edition are being frequently used in Solaris community?
Tnx for help :)

The naming might be a bit confusing: Developers rather tend to using each new SXCR, not SXDE. Just because SXCR is always more current / closer to the cutting edge Nevada build status.

They are otherwise basically the same, both based on Nevada ON / OpenSolaris, SunOS5.11/Solaris11 (or whatever Marketing name it will have when it is released as successor of Solaris 10).
Solaris Express is SUNW's OpenSolaris distro.

You might want to have a look at http://developers.sun.com/solaris/downloads/solexpdev/product_faq.html

Enjoy
