The next big bang may be: Jörg Schilling is joining

Everything seems possible ;)
Somehow I seriously doubt that. Jörg showed Debian on number of occassions how
crappy the Linux code was, especially the SCSI implementation, delivered
patches... instead of embracing him with open arms, they hated him for that.
And of course the fact he pretty much told them what he taught of the GPL
didn't bring any love either. It's a classic.
Stranger things have happened in the Solaris/Sun world.
Think of "Motif ? Over my dead body ..." and similar flying-pig things.
Who'd have thought ten years ago that Solaris might become opensourced ?
There are a lot of hotheads in the technical crowd, passion seems to be an
unavoidable side-effect of technical competency. Once technical alignment
is found, though, these outbreaks of temper usually die down as quickly as
they came.
I don't like missionaries either, but not every Debianista is such a
missionary, and Joerg isn't unless you deliberately play the religious
card with him.
FrankH.
Boy am I glad Jörg's a Solaris fan, and I really mean that.
