This was broken on some OpenSolaris Nevada builds (possibly Solaris 10?) on X86 and is a perfect example of a gotcha which seems trivial to Solaris old-timers but would convince almost any newcomer into thinking "Solaris sucks." It appears to be fixed in SXDE, but if it rears its ugly head again, please log a bug!
