Yes you did, but if you had a damaged or an incorrectly assembled ISO image, 
you could burn it 'till cows come home and it wouldn't help you.

You can find a description of what MD5 hash is on Wikipedia.

The hash(es) were on the Sun download page where you obtained either the entire 
ISO image, or parts and pieces thereof.

If that is the case, then perhaps your BIOS and Solaris do not agree with each 
other. Try booting again, but this time when you come to the GRUB screen, press 
"e" to edit the boot line and add the following to the "multiboot" or the 
"kernel" line, depending on which one you have (and which one shows up first):

-B acpi-user-options=0x2 -v

This will turn off ACPI, and it might just enable Solaris to boot directly on 
your hardware.
