Please boot to single user mode by typing "e" in the GRUB menu, then selecting the "multiboot" or "kernel" entry and adding "-s" at the end of it.
After You boot into single user mode, execute /usr/sbin/prtconf -pv and post the output here. Alternatively download and burn the Sun install check tool from www.sun.com/downloads/ and save the results on an USB stick (you'll be presented with an option to do so after the analysis).
