Yes, i agree , but i know you had many discussions with them about

Have you also > had similar discussions with Real? Yes, we've talked with both Real and GStreamer. Both companies would be happy to sell Sun (or any Sun customer/distributor/whatever) licenses. You can read more on their website (http://www.fluendo.com/). They did not deny us in any way, Sun was simply not interested in paying the cost of a full license, mainly because only a small percentage of Solaris users really would benefit from better media support, and Sun doesn't want to increase the cost of Solaris for a small percentage of users. The idea of buying per-seat licenses in bulk and reselling them (or just giving them) to Solaris users who might want them might work better. But I think Sun customers would need to make it clear that this is a high priority before Sun would invest in the infrastructure needed to provide media plugins in this sort of fashion. The main benefit for Solaris users is that Sun could resell the plugins more cheaply than you currently can buy them at the Fluendo store. Having said that, they aren't really that expensive even buying them from Fluendo. In the meantime, Solaris users can purchase the plugins directly from Fluendo.
