release so that it can go on and try something new.  Up till now, the

production release with all the support implications that such a release

I don't know when this will happen, but I know it will, because if it
doesn't, we (as an extended community) will have a hard time producing
supportable and viable production level distros.

Once it happens, we will immediately vector off into a long discussion
about what the next development push should be like, what our values,
goals and givens are, and how to proceed. One of the things we will
need to agree on is the release taxonomy of that new development effort.

But that is the topic for another message :-)
