As James stated out - depends what you mean by loosing global zone.
If you mean kernel panic - then yes, all your zones are down also (as
there's only one kernel after all). It's very similar to other
virtualizations like Xen or VMware - if master system (dom0, etc.)
dies all of your virtual systems die also.

If you want to avoid this you have to go with "HW" virtualization like
system domains in case of e6900.

It all depends what problem you're trying to solve.
