Hello. To check out OpenSolaris on my machine (once more), I downloaded Solaris Express build 61 and installed it. I used Solaris Express, as that's the version listed on http://opensolaris.org/os/downloads/ and as Solaris 10 did not properly support my hardware.
To be useful to me, I need OS to support my WLAN equipment. I'm using a atheros card, which is supported by the ath driver. I also need WPA support, so I went to http://opensolaris.org/os/community/laptop/wireless/wpa/ and downloaded and installed wpa_supplicant. When I now run "wpa_supplicant", I get the "ld.so.1: wpa_supplicant: fatal : libssl.so.0.9.7: open failed: No such file or directory" error message. Reason is, that wpa_supplicant is linked against a version of openssl, which is not on Solaris Express 61. On build 61, there's OpenSSL v0.9.8 (or some revision of 0.9.8, but not 0.9.7). Because of that, I'd like to recompile the wpa-0.1 package. How would I do that? I tried to download http://opensolaris.org/os/community/laptop/downloads/wpa-0.1-src.tar.gz, unpack it and cd to /home/alexander/Desktop/wpa-0.1-src/wpa-0.1/usr/src/pkgdefs, as I unpacked wpa-0.1-src to wpa-0.1-src on my Desktop folder. Then I ran "make", which gave me an error message, to the effect that "/Makefile.master" (or something like this) could not be found. Seems that this was not the correct approach. What are the correct steps to recompile and rebuild a package, so that it can be installed with "pkgadd"? Thanks, Alexander Skwar -- Nihilism should commence with oneself. _______________________________________________ opensolaris-discuss mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED]
