this is what I wrote pmpkg for: http://freshmeat.net/projects/pmpkg .
while it's still a "package framework", it doesn't enforce any
dependencies, so as long as libraries are available, you can build the
package without any dependencies on pmpkg parts. vim7 is also included
(in editors/vim) and depends on SUNW* packages only in my build.
