I failed to mention that we have ported OXIM to SuSE. It, however, was a very
different story when we tried to port it to Solaris. Of course, our
unfamiliarity with how the later is structured is the main deterring factor.

We think OXIM is the best input method for both simplified and traditional
Chinese.  SCIM should also suffice.

In Build 60, it would take a good 10+ seconds to activate IIIMF--plus the
hang-up time when GNOME first starts. It's not funny to even mention these.
(BTW, IIIMF, as my memory recalls, works horribly, if at all, in KDE/Linux.)
However, because there are so few Solaris desktop users (in both simplified and
traditional Chinese) at the present time, I guess it's OK for Sun to take time
concentrating its resources to try to make IIIMF work, though I am seeing a
classic catch-22 problem here.

That said, I think I have spent enough time with Solaris Express and various
Linux distros (&, of course, Windows) to make a bold statement that Solaris
Express should be the best (&, eventually, the ideal) business/enterprise
desktop, if one has the patience to write down all the pros and cons.

As many here are aware, don't underestimate the importance of the desktop OS;
it will ultimately determines what OS gets to be used in the servers.
