I have had no problems contributing code. What is so hard about "svn commit"?
It works for me, and I do not work for Sun! You should be more exact about which
project you are having problems contributing to.

I think it depends on which project you are involved in.

Currently, the ON/Nevada project has the strictest (understandably)
process in my experience.

I don't know of anyone outside Sun having direct commit access to that yet.

The main overhead there is the sponsor process which I know is being
worked on among other things.
