That's not exactly my impression. When it comes to the core draft of the
reference distro, the intention (maybe not originally, but now) is that the
proposal is to be primarily Community-derived, not Sun-derived.

Hmm, that was strangely worded - what I was trying to say was that they've
got a rough draft of an idea, and once Glynn finishes writing that down into
a formal proposal, they'll present that to the community to refine it into
a more concrete plan for a community-based project.    The core of the idea
is a community-built reference distro of OpenSolaris.

Now that you mention it, one of the other points discussed that I forgot in
my summary is that to do this, they need to get more of the infrastructure
that's currently behind the Sun firewall pushed out - much of which is of
course already in progress, like the SCM migration for ON.
