Hmm, sex, drugs and rock 'n roll :-) One would assume that since there isn't that "what is Opensolaris all about" means that it is what ever you as an individual want it to be - you want to port it to your toaster or roaster - great. You want to run it as a desktop operating system - hey, what ever floats your boat. Want to simulate a nuclear blast - hey, what every turns you on.
Personally, for me, I think having things like 'what is it all about' limits the scope, and what you end up having is a ingrained pigeon hole which serves only to limit the growth of the operating system by putting an arbitrary frame to say, "this is what the OS is for, and only for that". Solaris already has a 'reputation' for being a 'server only operating system' (quotations added for a reason), we certainly don't need to compound it further.
