I think I know what he means with "stolen": Fact is that many, many more people are trying Linux than OpenSolaris. The media is writing and talking about Linux and only very rare articles about OpenSolaris are written. Now imagine that this "port" of ZFS to Linux comes eventually into Ubuntu - just imagine that -: Soon the people will write how advanced Linux is - in the various forums, and in articles - and what advanced filesystem features Linux brings. And that Ubuntu is such a good operating system. And now imagine that in some more months ZFS goes into Fedora, RHEL ... What I want to say is that possibly in a not very far future people will use and promote ZFS as part of Linux and not of OpenSolaris. Maybe he wanted to say _that_ as he said "stolen". Maybe...
