Hi Casper,

Clicking on more players does give me a listing of all of the available
players including Solaris x86 (and the ability to download it)
did you test that ?

Yes, at least up to the point where it said:

"Download player for Solaris X86 now".

if you do, you will find that the Solaris x86 player goes to a nice page
that says "Adobe Flash Player Download Center Solaris x86" and then it
provides the sparc package.

Ah, I see now.

Manual changing the URL does work but this seems very broken.

Ordinary users, like the ones that I am talking to with CAD/CAM workstations
will simply follow the links and watch things not work. It is the smallest
thing like this that knocks Solaris x86 orders off the desk and instead I
see a manager looking at Windows XP on Dell running CATIA.

Not if they installed a recent Solaris release as it comes with bundled
Flash 7.

(Didn't S10 come with that already or come with it now?)

Flash player 7 is bundled with solaris 10 since solaris update 3.
Also Flash player 9 is targeting solaris 10 update 5 and nevada build 69.
The final decision is not made yet.
All of that simply because the manufacturers documentation can not be read
by the CAD/CAM designer running Solaris. SunRay is out also. Actually that
is more because of graphics on the SunRay not being able to handle the
requirements for large screen CAD/CAM.

anyways ... its just one of those many little things that irks me.

it used to work but they broke it again.

File a bug with adobe; perhaps they'll fix it when the make Flash 9 available.

We will told them about this and get it fixed in flash 9.
Casper
