Interesting. When I had to set up a DHCP server at home, I hadn't tried using Sun's DHCP server seriously before. I ran dhcpmgr(1M), and it walked me through the process. It was relatively painless to answer the questions it had, and took all of a few minutes to get running. I agree that it's possible to get lost in the complexity, if you're interested in doing so, but I'm surprised that getting started with a basic service is hard.
